1 Corinthians 12 Gifts of the Spirit

The sermon this Sunday was mostly about the gift-giver:
The Holy Spirit. Completely scriptural instruction on the Person of the Holy Spirit.

The normal-ness of the church, empowered in every aspect of service and every activity through the gifts that He gives.  The person, not the phenomenon of people responding to Him in wild ways.

The person:
referred to with masculine pronouns
who thinks, feels, and has a will
who is separate from God the Father or Christ the Son
who is the presence of God when we worship

We focused on the truth of scripture that God is the one who makes the church work. The simple reality that everything that happens in the church is The Spirit of God leading the church.  Often without fanfare, in unamazing ways, but when He does it, with eternal results.  This is just the beginning of the teaching about how to be the church yielded to the Spirit of God; led by Him.

There was a strong sense of the manifestation of the Spirit of God in the room as we focused on Him, that you may not get from this podcast, but the room was focused and alert and responsive to this message. We hope this helps your understanding of the church empowered by the Holy Spirit.
